The Ritz-Carlton, Amelia Island

The Ritz-Carlton, Amelia Island

The Ritz-Carlton, Amelia Island

It’s hard to imagine a more perfect setting–luxury hotel with Eden-like grounds set against the backdrop of soft sand dunes on the Northern Florida Coast.  And there is a golf course and a magnificent spa plus a AAA Five Diamond Restaurant called Salt.

This was my first time staying at a Ritz–and I must say, my experience exceeded my expectations (which were pretty high).  From my very first interaction with staff to my last was marked by highly personalized, caring service (though I was only there 24 hours, I can only imagine that it would be wonderful to continue the experience for multiple days and nights). You certainly do not go to a Ritz for a cheap getaway, it is something special to savor and cherish.

The Ritz-Carlton, Amelia Island is also one of My Signature Hotels–which means you receive special Signature amenities during your stay (compared to when you book it yourself).  Spa credits, daily breakfast (from an amazingly yummy buffet with cinnamon sticky buns), and possible complimentary upgrades and early checkin and late checkout.

The beachfront resort has 446 ALL oceanview rooms, including dozens of suites and club-level rooms. The Ritz-Carlton Spa is a 27,000 square foot oasis of pampering and features a private saltwater pool for spa patrons. You can even listen to music underwater while you’re doing laps! The 18-hole championship golf course has received numerous awards and recognition for being a top golf spot.

Take a look at the photos to get a flavor of the destination. (And no, I didn’t stay in the suite–but did get a quick glimpse of it!)
