When selecting your personal travel advisor, it is important to know about their professional qualifications and background. We are proud to list Laurel Brunvoll’s extensive travel training and association memberships below.

For nearly 50 years, The Travel Institute has been providing training, development and professional certifications to individuals in all areas of the travel industry. Unforgettable Trips is a member of the Travel Institute.

The Travel Institute
Certified Travel Associate (CTA) – An advanced travel agent educational program that guarantees a high level of professionalism in the field and represents the first step in a two level certification course. Achieved in 2009.

Certified Lifestyle Specialist of Luxury Travel – A specialist program geared towards the unique needs of luxury travelers. Awarded in 2009.

Certified Destination Specialist Caribbean – A specialist program covering 40 destinations, including the Atlantic and the Coast of Latin America, is endorsed by the Caribbean Tourism Organization as their official training course. Awarded in 2009.

CLIA – Cruise Lines International Association is the world’s largest cruise association and is dedicated to the promotion and growth of the cruise industry. CLIA’s professional Certifications levels are tiered progressively. An agent must meet the stringent requirements and attain primary levels of Certification to be eligible for higher Certifications. Each ascending level of Certification reflects greater expertise and demonstrated proficiency in the cruise industry and customer service.

CLIA
Accredited Cruise Counsellor (ACC) – Similar to a Bachelors Degree in cruising. This is a study program that requires passing relevant CLIA courses, sailing on a variety of ships for practical experience, and doing a number of ship inspections to gain familiarity with what the cruise lines are offering their passengers. Awarded in 2007.

CLIA Master Cruise Counsellor
Master Cruise Counsellor (MCC) – Similar to a Masters Degree in cruising. This program is a continuing and more in-depth study, including more required cruises of differing lengths, extensive course work with exams, and additional ship inspections. A diploma is awarded for completion. Awarded in 2008.

CLIA Luxury Cruise Specialist
Luxury Cruise Specialist (LCS) – This degree in cruising is a specialized in-depth study of luxury cruising, includes more required cruises of luxury lines, extensive coursework with exams and additional inspections. A diploma is awarded for completion. Awarded in 2008.
